TATE E. THOMPSON (he/him) is a MFA Sound & Media Design candidate at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Most recently, he closed A CHRISTMAS CAROL at the Clarence Brown Theatre as the music designer. His recent works in the community include sound design for THE REFUGEES at Davidson College.
 
Tate graduated from Fairmont State University in May 2020 and is a member of Theatrical Sound Designers and Composers Association (TSDCA).

Tate is expected to graduate from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in May 2023.

For the 2021-22 season at the Clarence Brown Theatre,

Tate will be designing:

  • A CHRISTMAS CAROL, adapted by Kate Buckley (music)

  • THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME (projections)

  • SHE KILLS MONSTERS (sound & music)

  • ALWAYS...PATSY CLINE (asst. sound & live mixer)
